Who we are
Rug Craftworks is a trading name of Bloom Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Hong Kong, with its registered office at 2301, 23/F Bayfield Building, 99 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Bloom Technologies Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through rugcraftworks.com.

What we collect
When you buy from us: name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, and order details. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processors — we never see or store your full card number.
When you contact us: your email address and whatever you tell us.
When you subscribe: your email address, and your phone number if you give it.
Automatically, when you browse: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and similar analytics data, collected through cookies and comparable technologies. See our Cookie Policy.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis

You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. It will not affect your orders.
Who we share it with
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts this store and processes orders.
- Payment processors — Shopify Payments and any alternative methods offered at checkout, to take payment and guard against fraud.
- Shipping and logistics partners, including freight forwarders and couriers in India, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, who need your delivery address to get the rug to you.
- Email and SMS marketing platform — TODO: name the provider (e.g. Klaviyo, Shopify Email).
- Analytics providers — Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which record site usage. Clarity also records session replays of how you interact with pages.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
This matters for us more than for most UK retailers, so we want to be clear about it.
Bloom Technologies Ltd is established in Hong Kong, and our manufacturing and fulfilment partners are in India. Your personal data will therefore be transferred outside the United Kingdom.
Neither Hong Kong nor India is covered by a UK adequacy decision. Where we transfer your data to these countries, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate supplementary safeguards, to give your data a level of protection essentially equivalent to that under UK law.

How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records: 7 years, to meet accounting and tax obligations
- Marketing contact details: until you unsubscribe, then suppressed so we don't re-contact you
- Support correspondence: 3 years
- Analytics data: per the retention settings of the provider (GA4 default is 14 months)
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Email support@rugcraftworks.com to exercise any of these. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be notified by email where we hold your address.
